New year, the new release from Nakivo. The latest version of Nakivo Backup and Replication version 10.2 has just been released. Nakivo is an interesting backup company. When they launched their product a long time ago, it was so advanced that some competing products struggle to keep up with features even now. The previous release brought vSphere compatibilities, full P2V recovery, backup to Wasabi, and backup to OneDrive for Business. Nakivo launched its first version as a virtual backup only. When Nakivo released the previous version, 10.1, it also completed a promise to IT admins that they will be able to back up the entire IT environment. Now Nakivo can backup physical servers, workstations, and even Amazon cloud instances.
New features in Nakivo Backup and Replication 10.2
SharePoint Online Backup – Nakivo has improved the backup Of Microsoft 365. You can now backup SharePoint Online Sites and recover SharePoint document libraries and lists. Whether you face accidental deletion, internal security threats, or cybersecurity breaches, you can safely recover the backup. Besides, you can use the search functionality to locate and recover items faster. That is especially handy for compliance and e-discovery purposes.
Ransomware Protection with Amazon S3 Object Lock – Nakivo allows you to backup your data to Amazon S3. Amazon S3 is scalable storage for cloud data. You can use Nakivo to send a backup of physical machines, a backup of VMs, and Amazon EC2 instances to Amazon S3. With the latest Nakivo Backup and Replication, you can use Amazon S3 Object Lock to make your backups immutable for as long as required. When enabled, the retention period can not be disabled, not even by the root user.
That way, you protect backup stored in your Amazon S3 from accidental deletion. You can create your own retention periods to keep your data protected as long as you want. That way, you will also protect backup from ransomware, and you will meet compliance requirements.
Tenant Resource Allocation for Service providers – The new feature Tenant Resource Allocation allows an easy way to manage resources in multi-tenant environments. You can assign hosts, clusters, Transporters, and Backup Repositories to tenants.
