Synology RS3614xs/RS3614RPxs released, with and without redundant power supply. Synology has moved up on to the enterprise space with RS3614xs/RS3614RPxs models.They were built for speed, they both deliver 3,518 MB/s throughput and 282,660 IOPS. They are bundled with 4 GB ECC RAM which can be expanded to 32GB. you can also plug in 2x 10GbE dual port via PCI Express. Both RS3614xs and RS3614RPxs have 12 bays but can be expanded to 36 bays via 2 expansion units. They support 6TB drives. IN combination with SSD caching you will get a really fast NAS.
Synology set a new 5 year warranty program to selected XS and XS+ models. Synology NAS Servers that are supported by the new program are: RS10613xs+, RS3614xs+, RS3614xs, RS3614RPxs and expansion units RX1213sas, RX1214, RX1214RP. They also offer free shipment of replacement units – NBD – next business day. Not bad.
For High Availability you can add two devices in a cluster, when one fails, the other takes over.
